Body flexibility is the first step in injury prevention [Front Bend]
In preventing injuries, body flexibility is a very important factor. In a state where flexibility is reduced,Muscles and joints cannot perform their natural movements, and their output of strength also becomes less efficient. As a result, excessive strain is placed on the body during daily activities and sports, making it more likely to lead to injury.
EspeciallyWhat is important is core flexibilityTherefore, the trunk has a structure that moves in three directions—forward, backward, and side to side—and it is important that each movement be smooth. It is involved in the balance of the entire body and shock absorption. This time, we will focus on "pronation" among them.
Generally speaking, a forward bend is considered a sign that the fingertips are touching the floor.Level 1 is about reaching your hands up to the top of your ankles, level 2 is about reaching your ankles, and level 3 is when your fingertips touch the floor. However, the cause of poor trunk flexion is not one factor; it involves several factors, such as stiffness around the shoulder blades, decreased flexibility in the hips, and stiffness in the back of the thighs (hamstrings).
It’s important to focus on targeting the affected area rather than just repeating the flexion movement. Next, perform the stretching techniques introduced below, aiming to have your fingertips touch the floor during flexion.
① Shoulder blade stretching
② Stretching the hamstring
③ Hamstring stretch
In the future, we will sequentially introduce tests for bending forward, backward, and turning around, as well as stretching exercises to improve each of these movements.
