It's not just an ordinary drinking session; it's a place where your feet naturally gravitate towards.

House of Irori is not just a place to enjoy alcohol; it cherishes creating a space where you can relax your mind, relieve all your fatigue, and return to your true self. This new store is the result of the owner who designed the bar themed after Europe, "House of Merlin." It was born from the desire to create a space that blends the "Japanese essence" with the European sensibility, drawing on the experience of having grown up surrounded by Japanese culture. The concept is based on the retro atmosphere of the Taisho and early Showa eras (1910–1930), but rather than faithfully reproducing the Japanese culture, it embodies an original worldview that harmonizes the unique charm of each country and era. When you visit, you will be served baked rice cakes and miso soup, among other things, reflecting the "hospitality" that has been cherished in Japan. This meticulous attention to detail is also one of the charms of House of Irori.

An extraordinary time that begins from a small alleyway

The narrow alley leading to the store has a calm atmosphere that evokes a Japanese backstreet. The subdued lighting and gentle music create a natural shift from the bustling cityscape, making it easy to switch off from the bustling surroundings and heighten anticipation as you step inside.

When you open the door, you are greeted by an interior design that utilizes the warmth of wood, warm lighting, and soothing music. You can spend a relaxing time in a peaceful atmosphere separate from the hustle and bustle of the outside world.

The Japanese sense of beauty found in the details

The store’s concept was devised by the owner himself, and he oversaw every detail, from the interior design and furnishings to the decorative elements. The wood used is chosen for its texture and appearance, and the glassware, tableware, and pottery are all sourced from Japan. Each of the store’s small details enhances the overall atmosphere.

One of the most impressive features is the bar counter. Designed a little brighter than typical bars, this creates a space where conversation with the bartender and interaction between customers naturally take place.

The "irori" that became the name of the store

When the owner visited Japan, he was deeply moved by the experience of enjoying meals and conversations around the hearth at a ryokan. He says that the desire to express that warm atmosphere in his own restaurant became the starting point for the design of his shop.

The hearth built into the store is not only an interior feature; it also serves as a symbol that connects people, just as hearths have been passed down in Japan as places for families and friends to gather.

Signature cocktail themed around "Healing"

"Echoes of Home" is a drink inspired by Japanese style teppanyaki, expressing the sense of comfort and familiarity you get when you return home.

"The Velvet Hearth" is a dessert cocktail inspired by Japanese mochi. Instead of using rice flour, yogurt is used to create a smooth texture.

"Lullaby of Life" is a drink that imagines the harmony of chamomile scent and homemade chocolate, bringing a gentle end to the day.

A fusion unique to this place created by the harmony of the Japanese and Western cultures

The cuisine also features a unique style that blends Japanese and Western elements. In addition to the fried chicken and truffle-infused tonkatsu sandwich, the restaurant also offers a wide selection of creative dishes, including beef tongue pasta. Among them, the “crab miso pizza” combines Japanese and Vietnamese ingredients to create a truly harmonious fusion of Japanese, Vietnamese, and Western flavors.

We incorporate Japanese ingredients such as brown rice tea and steamed rice rice balls into our drinks, bringing a nostalgic yet refreshing touch to our Japanese customers and a fresh encounter with Japanese culture to our Vietnamese customers.

An exciting lineup for whisky lovers too

We also have a wide selection of whisky. Bottles collected by the owner over the years are on display, and we have special affection for the craft whisky from Chichibu Distillery, known for its Ichiroro Malt. We also have many rare bottles from Japan available, including single cask ones.

Furthermore, there is also a wide selection of brands that appeal to whisky lovers, such as Port Ellen, Ben Nevis, and Macallan 12 110 Proof.

House of Irori is a "place you want to go back to"

In the heart of the store, surrounded by the warmth of wood and the gentle music, stands the hearth that became the store’s name. There are no flashy displays; instead, the “hospitality” unique to Japan gently warms the hearts of those who visit. While located amidst the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City, our goal is not to be flashy or to attract attention. Whether it’s a night when you’re tired from a busy everyday life or a night when you want to chat with someone, this place welcomes you with the same warmth. Just as the fire in the hearth draws people in, today, the “welcome back” to those who visit is quietly lit in this place.
