Hai Phong Golf Trip

Mr. Asoki Morikawa (Ajiki Morikazu), representative of FIELD GOLF, will introduce various aspects of golf courses and the golf situation in Vietnam.

Recently, I spent two nights and three days in Haiphong playing three rounds of golf. Haiphong is said to be the fourth largest city after Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Danang, and there are about 1,000 Japanese people stationed there.
First dayRuby Tree Golf Resort
It took about 1 hour and 40 minutes by car from Hanoi city, and we arrived without any traffic jams thanks to the early departure. This is an 18-hole, 72-par seaside golf course designed by an Australian design firm. The clubhouse may not be luxurious, but it is clean and very beautiful. There are also dry and steam saunas, so you can spend time relaxing after playing.
The course is relatively flat, and the fairways are wide, so there’s not much pressure during the tee shots. From the tee box, it was striking that there were many holes with similar left dogleg layouts. The maintenance of the fairways and greens was very good, and the greens had a speed of about 9.0, with some adjustment available, making for a challenging course to play.
Second dayDragon Golf Links
It took about 30 minutes by car from the center of Haiphong to get there. The new 36-hole golf course, which opened in 2023, was also impeccably maintained with its clubhouse, restaurant, and other facilities. The course, as the name suggests, is located along the coast, with natural elements incorporated throughout, including palm trees in some places, and the sand in the bunkers is pure white, creating a resort-like atmosphere.
Day 3Vinpearl Golf Haiphong
This is a 36-hole resort-style golf course located about 20 minutes by car from the center of Haiphong, surrounded by residential and commercial facilities that are still under development.
The modern clubhouse has a luxurious feel, and the course is flat and has no large trees, making it a golf course that even beginners can enjoy. However, on the day I played, the wind from the sea was strong, making it difficult to choose the club for my shot. It gets tiring when it’s windy all the time…
All three courses at Highfall are flat courses on the seaside, so you can play in a resort atmosphere, but the difficulty changes when the sea breeze blows. Please give it a try.

In August 2023, we opened an indoor golf studio for Japanese people in Ho Chi Minh City, and since then we have operated three indoor golf studios where Japanese teaching professionals are stationed, including Hai Ho Studio in Hanoi and Kimmas Studio.
