Is the era from Japan and South Korea the middle one?

China, which borders Vietnam, has historically had many conflicts, and until a few decades ago the impression of the Vietnamese people toward China was not exactly a positive one. However, in recent years the situation seems to have changed. Japan and South Korea, which are also countries in East Asia, are still popular, but there has been an increasing opportunity to feel Chinese in daily life in Vietnam. This article will focus on the presence of China in daily life.

Second foreign language: Chinese?

It was during the summer school period when my little girl was attending school during the summer holidays. One of the courses there included Chinese. It seemed like the time had come for foreign languages other than English to be taught; it’s no wonder that since the relationship is good, it’s a neighboring language. Even in bookstores, books related to foreign language education were mostly in English, followed by Japanese and Korean; however, now the Chinese section is getting bigger, and I think the Japanese and Korean sections are shrinking.

Increase in the number of travelers

The number of Chinese tourists visiting Vietnam is increasing year by year. This is partly due to the fact that they are geographically close, and also because of the Vietnamese government’s policies to attract foreign tourists and the fact that Chinese people are choosing to avoid traveling to Japan. I think there are many more services for Chinese tourists in the city, such as restaurants serving Chinese cuisine, which were previously only found in a few good restaurants. In the future, I expect more reasonably priced and easy-to-use restaurants to appear.

Young people aspiring to work for Chinese companies

As part of my job, I often have the opportunity to look at Vietnamese resumes, and there are more Vietnamese people studying Chinese now than before. I see people who are studying with the intention of benefiting from increased trade with China, and those who are studying because they want to get employment with Chinese companies. In the past, companies in China were not known for having very high salaries, and there were also concerns about compliance issues. However, now there are more companies offering good pay, so that seems to be one of the motivations for learning Chinese. Japanese companies have always been praised for having strict compliance standards and for not arbitrarily firing employees, but recently, the situation has changed as companies have become more competitive in terms of pay compared to other foreign companies. It used to be popular because Japanese companies were known for having strict compliance standards and for not arbitrarily firing employees. However, recently, the popularity of Japanese companies has been declining due to the perceived lack of competitiveness in terms of pay compared to other foreign companies.

Vietnam seems to be doing well by being closely intertwined with all countries, but for a country that is rapidly developing its economy, this seems like the optimal solution. It will be interesting to see how these relationships with these countries will evolve in the future.
