About an hour's drive from Hanoi City, the "TIEN CAU Hope Center" is quietly operated in a corner of the city in HUNG YEN Province.
It was a hot and humid morning, and the sun was shining strongly, but the volunteers and I headed out to the site.
The director, Ms. Nguyen Trung Chat, told us that there are few state-run facilities in Hanoi, and that the Tien Cau Hope Center has been operated at her own expense for the past 18 years, courtesy of Ms. Chat. In addition to Mr. CHAT, there are three other staff members who share the responsibility of cooking, washing clothes, and taking care of livestock.
A total of 20 children live in this facility and warmly welcomed our visit.
We donated a portion of the proceeds from last month's charity event, as well as size-out clothes and toys.
In addition to Vietnamese and Japanese mothers, children also participated in this volunteer activity. They all gathered together to interact with each other through origami, drawing, soccer, and other activities.

The older brothers and sisters at the facility are very strong, and I admire their resilience in the face of harsh realities, such as taking care of their young children.
Vietnam's economy is on a steady rise, and the country tends to focus on the glamorous scenery as it continues to develop day by day, but on the other hand, there are still many places in Vietnam, like the Tien Cau Hope Center, where it is difficult to escape from poverty.
We at CAMPUS HANOI would like to continue such activities in the future, where we can be there for them even if only in a small way.
So, I would like to ask you all a favor.
Please donate children's clothing, shoes, etc. that you no longer need.
We would also greatly appreciate any toys, musical instruments, picture books, etc. that would make them smile.

Please stop by our CAMPUS HANO when you have a moment.
We also visit facilities on a regular basis once a month. We welcome interested parties to join us.
