Wellbeing Vietnam provides medical support services for Vietnamese residents in Vietnam. Whether you are feeling unwell but don’t know which hospital to go to, or suddenly have chest pains and need an ambulance, just call Wellbeing and our staff will be there 24/7 to help you get to the hospital. We offer services such as support for hospital visits from minor illnesses to emergency ambulance arrangements, interpreter assistance for surgical procedures, billing assistance, and even medical transport to Japan if treatment is difficult in Vietnam.

In 1994, our company began providing medical support services outside of Japan in Shanghai, China. Upon visiting China at the time, the current chairman noticed a problem of many Japanese people who did not have insurance but could not go to the hospital. He then focused on a service that would utilize insurance. This led to the creation of the “Wellbeing Medical Service,” a membership-based medical support service for residents of Japan. In 2009, in response to customer requests, we expanded into Vietnam. For our company, Vietnam became our second overseas location.

The team building activities were arranged by a travel agency and we had a great two days creating some fun memories.

The products we handle are medical support services, so we always feel a sense of responsibility that failure is not allowed. As we are dealing with people's lives, we sometimes receive harsh criticism, but on the other hand, we often receive words of gratitude such as "Thank you for helping me." This makes us all feel great motivation. Especially, Vietnamese staff have a lot of difficulties in understanding Japanese culture and customs, so I think they work hard to try to understand Japanese thinking. Since I took on the role of representative for the Vietnam branch, one of my main focuses has been to talk face-to-face as much as possible. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been more opportunities to conduct meetings via web conferencing or chat, but I still feel there is a difference in communication when speaking face-to-face. I also try to maintain an equal relationship with staff. Especially for Vietnamese staff, I respect their culture and way of thinking and try not to dismiss them lightly. Since many of our staff have joined us because they like Japan, I appreciate that feeling and am making every effort to speak their native language. I want to build good relationships in the future by cherishing positive emotions and responding with flexibility.

A game plan that is full of good things that will strengthen the bonds between employees even more

Our employee trips aim to strengthen camaraderie. The theme for 2024 is “One Team, One Dream,” and the destination was a two-day trip to Cutbar Island. The two teams split into different groups on the sand of Cutbar Island and planned various games to build team spirit. At an employee trip, employees can relax away from their stressful daily routines and deepen their understanding of each other. This strengthens the team bond and improves internal communication. Additionally, spending time together creates a higher level of motivation and engagement towards work.

The game that most excited everyone was the one where teams were divided into red and yellow and competed to see which team could raise their flag the highest.

The game during the gala dinner was also exciting. Again, the host skillfully kept the atmosphere lively.

I am truly grateful that I was able to go on a company trip this year. For me, who is just starting my first year in Hanoi, I can feel that after the trip, communication with my colleagues has become easier. Above all, I was glad to see everyone smiling and having fun. I felt like I could give a small token of my gratitude to them for always being so supportive. The employees also said that they had a great time and would like to go on another trip. Currently, we are conducting employee trips that are divided into northern and southern areas. In the future, we hope to bring together members from all of our locations and have an event where everyone can participate.

The Vietnamese staff on a company trip have enjoyed themselves to the fullest, beyond the Japanese imagination. I’ve heard that not having a company trip is a reason for leaving the company, but I feel like I’ve understood the reason for that. The Vietnamese staff love creating fun memories, such as team building activities, and they also love taking photos. This company trip was a great experience for them, as they realized that creating good relationships among team members also has a positive impact on their work.

Especially female employees find dressing up for the evening one of the fun parts. Of course, some men also choose to dress up as well.
