Excited and excited! My first attempt at bakchan-yaki

In the basement G floor of the Vietnam Handicraft Village Essence Center, there is the "Ban Xoay studio," where you can experience the making of Baccarat pottery. Our editorial staff took on the challenge of making pottery for the first time in their lives.

Choosing clay

We choose clay for making pottery. The white clay used in Bacchan pottery has high plasticity and fine grains, making it difficult to dissolve in water.

Treatment of non-hazardous substances

Since there is often a mixture of unwanted substances in the clay used as raw material, it is removed before starting pottery making.

Sculpture

Place the clay on the turntable and use your hands to create the shape of the pottery.

Drying

When the shape is formed, heat it slowly in the oven to evaporate the moisture.

Paint

Paint freely using the brush.

Heating

After gradually increasing the temperature until the kiln reaches the maximum temperature, we will now slowly lower the temperature.

Done!
