Cultural shock from the Vietnamese style “all-you-can-eat hospitality”?

Ruan, that last time at the Quê Buffet restaurant was a real shock!
Yeah, it's in Tuong in Bac Ninh Province, and they have everything from seafood and steak to sushi, and it's only 300,000 VND for unlimited time! It was a great value for money.
There’s everything from crabs and shrimp to sushi and steak, and I’m in a panic over what to order!
And I was surprised that sushi was so popular; I was a little impressed that sushi has become so ingrained in everyday life in Vietnam as well.
But what surprised me the most was that Vietnamese people don’t take just their own share; they take everything they can get, even if it’s not their own! I was actually embarrassed that I initially didn’t take even a single portion (laughs).
That’s the Vietnamese way. Since “eating together” is the premise, it’s natural that everyone brings what they’re most likely to like, rather than what they’re most likely to eat themselves.
Also, the drinks—beer and Coke—were served in large bottles, and we had the opportunity to pour them all into one container together for the first time. It was also interesting that it wasn’t a machine; the drink was served in a container filled with ice! Also, by the way, a relative brought me some freshly baked steak, and I was curious to know where to get it, so I asked them and they were happy to tell me where to get it!
Oh yeah. If you have a dish you want, just point to it and say "Cho tôi món đó. (Please give me that dish.)" It's easy to understand that way, so keep calling out your requests!
